To run a tool in Studio, you open a project's campaign, launch the tool as a window from the bottom toolbar, and fill in its form. The job runs in the background, and the same window shows the result when it finishes. This page runs ESMFold once, from start to finish.

You need a project that has at least one campaign. You create both in **Files**; see [Campaigns](/docs/chat/campaigns).

### 1. Open the campaign in Studio

In **Files**, open your project, select a campaign, and choose **Open Studio**. A dialog warns that Studio is experimental. Choose **Continue to Studio**.

The project loads with the left sidebar, the canvas, the bottom toolbar and the right sidebar. The [overview](/docs/studio) describes each region.

### 2. Open a tool window

In the bottom toolbar, open the **Model** menu. Tools are grouped by category. Choose **Structure & Folding → ESMFold Structure Prediction**. A tool window opens on the canvas.

You can also launch a tool from the right sidebar. On the **Pipeline** tab, the **Next Step** card names the first unchecked step of the drug-development checklist, and its **Start** button opens that step's tool.

> The **Model** menu lists every catalogued tool, but only tools with a Studio form open a window. Clicking any other tool does nothing.

### 3. Fill in the form and run

Paste a protein sequence, adjust the parameters you care about, and submit. The job runs on the platform's compute backend. You can keep working, or close the tab, while it runs.

### 4. Follow the job

The job appears under active jobs at the top of the right sidebar's **Pipeline** tab. That list shows up to three running or queued jobs. To see all of the project's jobs, open the **Jobs & Discovery** menu in the bottom toolbar and choose **Jobs Dashboard**. The dashboard is covered in [Job management](/docs/studio/job-management).

### 5. Read the result

When the job finishes, the tool window shows the result. You can also reach it from the Jobs Dashboard. Open the job row's actions menu and choose **View Details**. A **Job Details** window opens, and its **Results & Files** tab lists the output files for download.

A successful ESMFold job ticks **Structure Predicted** on the checklist automatically.

## What Studio saves

Studio saves the project automatically. It writes these to the project:

- the open windows and their positions
- whether each sidebar is open
- tool form data
- the checklist

Reopening the project restores them. **Save Project** in the File menu does nothing, because there is no manual save.

## Not available yet

These controls are on screen, but in the current build they do nothing:

- **File → Save Project**, **Save Project As…** and **Import Project from Export**
- **Quick Actions → Create Workflow (beta)**, and the named example workflows listed under it
- The **PDF Report** export profile. The server answers that PDF export is not implemented.
- The left sidebar's **Data Sources** buttons. Use the bottom toolbar's **Data Sources** menu instead
- The right sidebar's **Files** tab. Browse files at `/data` instead
- **Run Workflow** on a template in the right sidebar's **Workflows** tab, and **Run** in the Visual Workflow Builder

The **Create Workflow**, **Parameter Sweep** and **Smart Suggestions** entries marked **Soon** are disabled.
