Studio windows
Every tool, result and dashboard in Studio opens as a window on the canvas. Covers window types, controls, layout commands and what is saved.
Every tool, result and dashboard in Studio opens as a window on the canvas. A window is a draggable, resizable panel. You open it from the bottom toolbar or a sidebar, and it stays where you put it. Studio saves the open windows and their positions into the project automatically.
Window types
| Window | Opened from | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Tool window | Model menu, burst! menu, or Start on the right sidebar's Next Step card | Holds one tool's form. It submits the job and shows the result when the job finishes |
| Jobs Dashboard | Jobs & Discovery → Jobs Dashboard | Lists all of the project's jobs, with filters and bulk actions. See Job management |
| Job Details | View Details on a Jobs Dashboard row | One job, in three tabs: Status & Actions, Technical Details and Results & Files |
| batch planner | chat on the mode toggle (top right) | A 480 × 640 language-model conversation that drafts batch plans. It does not run tools |
| Parameter Sweep Batch | Quick Actions → Parameter Sweep Batch | Runs one tool across a sweep of parameter values |
| Visual Workflow Builder | Quick Actions → Visual Workflow Builder | Chains tools into a workflow template and saves it to your workflow list |
| Reports and exports | Jobs & Discovery menu: Reports Catalog, Report Composer, Report History, Exports History, Bundles Viewer and others | Build reports and review past exports |
| Workspace Settings | Workspace → Workspace Settings… | UI density, UI scale, theme, job window layout, grid snapping and drag smoothness |
The Model menu lists every catalogued tool, but only tools with a Studio form open a window.
Opening View Details for a job that already has a Job Details window brings that window to the front instead of opening a second one.
Run in the Visual Workflow Builder fails in the current build: the request it sends does not reach a workflow. Saving a template works.
Window controls
| Control | Action |
|---|---|
| Title bar drag | Moves the window |
| Edge or corner drag | Resizes the window, down to a minimum of 300 × 200 px |
| Minimize | Collapses the window |
| Refresh | Reloads the window's content |
| Settings | Opens the window's own settings |
| Close | Closes the window |
| Arrow keys, with the drag handle focused | Nudge the window 1 px per press, or 10 px with Shift |
A new window opens at 850 × 500 px unless the thing that opened it sets another size. Clicking a window brings it to the front.
Windows have no maximize button and no keyboard shortcut to close them or to cycle between them.
Arranging windows
The Workspace menu in the bottom toolbar acts on every open window at once:
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
| Auto-arrange Windows | Lays the windows out on a grid |
| Cascade Windows | Staggers the windows diagonally |
| Tile Windows | Tiles the windows side by side, up to a maximum size |
| Snap to Grid | Moves each window onto the canvas grid |
| Reset Window Sizes | Returns every window to its default size |
| Focus Mode | Minimizes every window except the one on top |
| Minimize All Windows / Restore All Windows | Collapses or restores every window |
| Toggle Grid | Shows or hides the canvas grid |
| Close All Windows | Closes every window |
What is saved
Studio saves the project on its own. The saved state holds:
- the open windows and where they are
- whether each sidebar is open
- tool form data
- the drug-development checklist
When you reopen the project, it comes back as you left it. Separately, your browser remembers the last position of each window by its title, so a window you reopen lands where it last was.
Performance
No setting limits how many windows you can open. Each window that shows a 3D structure keeps its viewer alive while it is open, though, so the page slows as you add them. Minimize or close windows you are not reading.
